The usefulness of Twitter is entirely dependent on the quality of the people you follow and the quality of the information you put into it. But beyond that, the thing I find most useful over time is the 360 perspective I get on people I’m interested in. While it may seem frivolous to get the "I’m drinking with friends" tweet, when put in perspective with the more useful tweets I end up with a more complete picture of how this person’s ideas are being shaped.
